Welfare Rights Committee invites you come join
the Celebration and our History of the Fighting Back!
CELEBRATE WRC’s 15 Year History of Fighting
for Low-Income Families!
COME HEAR about
WRC’s recent VICTORIES at
State Capitol!
Where: Welfare Rights Committee Office at Sabathani Community Center
310 East 38th St, Minneapolis
RM 207
When: Saturday, October 21, 2006
Time: 11am to 1 pm
Fifteen years ago, the Welfare Rights Committee started
to
defend the rights of poor families. The WRC, a committee of low income women
and families,
jumped into the trenches to fight back against the war on the poor. Since
that day, the WRC has been on the front lines, fighting day and night to
stop the attacks on welfare, health care and other programs for low income
families. The WRC has had its own “Poor Peoples Bills” at the Capitol,
has brought thousands of low income families to the Capitol to meet with
politicians,
testify at hearings, and to protest unjust laws. The WRC has won many important
battles and will continue to fight back until every single cut to welfare
and attack on the poor is ended!
You will hear and meet Great People! You will hear Great History stories! You
will have Great Food! You will have a Great Time!
Call WRC at 612-822-8020 for information and reserve your stop for the celebration.
See you all in October!
