March on the RNC Sept. 1 - Money for Human Needs, Not for War!

March in the Poor People’s Contingent!

Save the Date:
Monday, Sept. 1, 2008 (Labor Day)
11:00 a.m.
Starting from State Capitol grounds, Saint Paul.
March on the first day of the Republican National Convention (RNC)!

The Republicans are coming to our city to hold their Republican National Convention (RNC). On September 1st, tens of thousands will be coming from all over the U.S. to protest in St Paul. We have serious needs in this country and we are outraged that this government spends trillions of dollars to wage war in Iraq, while they slash spending for basic human needs at home. We are outraged that is us, poor and working folks that are being sent to kill and be killed in this rich man’s war.

--At the same time that Governor Pawlenty and his rich Republican buddies in Washington are slashing programs for poor & working families, they’re spending trillions of $$ to wage a criminal war in Iraq!
--At the same time that state politicians stole
tens of millions of dollars from the welfare program, they voted to spend over $50 million for security
for the RNC!

Money for Housing...Money for Healthcare...Money for Welfare...Money for Childcare...Money for Jobs...Money for Schools...NOT FOR WAR!

We invite low income people to join our Poor People’s Contingent in the RNC Protest March on September 1st.
