Picket and Press Conference at State Capitol “Nov. Forecast”

Join our “Counter-Press Conference” before the state’s presentation of the November Forecast!

When - Wednesday, Dec. 1, 11:30 a.m.

Where - MN State Capitol, outside room G-15 (below the rotunda)

Why: Someone needs to tell the truth.

On Dec. 1, Pawlenty’s Department of Finance will present the annual ‘November Forecast.’ It is expected to show a budget deficit of at least $1 billion dollars. We also expect that the Governor and his henchmen will try to put a rosy view of the situation…but we know things are anything but good for poor and working people in MN. In the last budget year, Pawlenty and House Republicans carried out an anti-poor, anti-worker, racist, sexist agenda that resulted in the wholesale slaughter of Minnesota health care and welfare programs.  A $4.5 billion dollar deficit was balanced on the backs of poor and working Minnesotans!  Minnesota schools, libraries, towns, and public services have suffered massive cuts. Minnesota workers are told to bear the pain and pay with layoffs, wage cuts and increased health care costs! This year the Governor must listen to the people of Minnesota! We say TAX the RICH!  If the state has money problems, go to the people who have the money, not those of us who have none!
